Gardening Gifts for Everyone |

Another holiday is coming and you are wondering what to get that special someone in your life. Well, if that special someone happens to be a gardener, then you are in luck! There are so many great and unique ideas for gardening gifts, and at a wide range of costs. Here are some of my favorite ideas:
- Books always make a great gift, especially for a beginning gardener. There are thousands to choose from and they can be purchased in any store or online. There are books on general gardening, plants, indoor gardening, trees and shrubs, and landscaping. One of the best books I ever received when I began gardening was the "Gardening Encyclopedia" from the American Horticulture Society.
- Plants are a beautiful gardening gift, whether it's a seasonal plant given for a holiday gift, or a perennial plant the gardener can transplant into their garden. If a friend or relative is expecting a new addition to the family, a special plant or shrub such as a white rose bush can be given to the family to plant in their yard. The rose bush will grow as their child grows!
- I also enjoy giving and receiving yard decorations as gardening gifts. They can be anything from cobble stepping stones to glass gazing balls to whiskey barrel fountains. Stone yard decorations are especially great for winter, when the garden is not as colorful.
- I always have a lot of fun with themed gardening gifts. They can be as unique as you want them to be. You can give a packet of wildflower seeds with a small decorative pot to start them in. Or you can give a butterfly bush with a book on butterflies. I once gave a friend a strawberry plant along with several recipes using strawberries. She loved it!
Books, plants, yard decorations - these are all great gift ideas by themselves or combined as themed gardening gifts. Remember, when you are looking for a special gift for a friend or relative whose a gardener, you are only limited by your imagination!
